1. Petroleum-based in my Hondas, synthetic in the Saab 9³, haven't decided yet for the Saabaru.


2. Castrol GTX, Mobil-1.


3. What does it mean to have 'better performance'?
- Film strength?
- Flow properties during cold-startup?
- Resistance to oxidation?
- Resistance to sludge formation?
That stuff is all very important.

Environmentally safe? My cars don't leak much, & I don't mind taking used oil to be collected. I DO NOT EVER dump it on the ground.

Long life?
Does this mean holding viscosity? Resisting pH changes that promote corrosion?
Sure it's good, balanced by cost. Oil that lasts twice as long but costs 3x isn't really saving any money.

Emmissions? My PCV systems are working. Is this new oil gonna outgas more than current types of oil?
