I have a 96 Honda Civic DX and planned on swapping in a 99 Honda Civic SI engine with complete engine harness included with the swap.
Now, my question is being that my 96 civic is a OBD2A can I still use the OBD2B engine harness that comes with the swap to work with my car? Or will I need to buy a OBD2A Civic EX engine harness, which I would hate to do..?
Thanks, any info would be greatly appreciated!

you need the coveted 96-98 civic EX engine harness.
then depending on what ECU you use, you must get the approperate jumper harness to the ecu. (obd2a-obd1) if your using a p28 or somthing or (obd2a to obd2b) if your using the 99-00 Si ecu.

You will not be able to use the OBD2b engine harness. You will either need to use the OBD2a harness and add plugs or purchase an OBD2a Ex harness that already has the vtec plugs, etc. Then if you want to run the OBD1 P28 ecu, you will use the OBD2a-1 harness.
