Default OBD0 (PWO) to OBD1 conversion help needed...

My friend has a JDM CRX SiR with B16A (PWO), he bought a chip of ebay with no rev limiter and even though i warned him numerous times about it, he still kept pushing the engine in to the mid 9000 RPMs, anyway last night, one of the rods decided they didnt like this abuse very much and it escaped through the bottom end, taking oil and water (more than just bottom end damage?) with it. We were going to strip the engine and see what damage had been done, but we came across a JDM B18C with tranny/ECU/harness/drives etc etc for very cheap ($800) so he bought it and were going to drop it in this weekend....now my questions...

(1) I suggested he use his stock CRX SiR (Y1???) tranny as it has an LSD (The Y80 doesnt) plus the Y1 has shorter gears which should aid acceleration..anyone think differently????

(2)none of us fancy pulling out the stock OBD0 wiring and fitting the OBD1 harness, so in order to avoid that will the B18C run with a PWO ECU (no knock sensor required on PWO ECU - will this cause a problem?) and will the secondary butterflies stay open all the time or not open at all at 5800rpm?

(3) If it runs like **** with the PWO ECU, is it absolutely necessary to rip out all the wiring or can it be modified in some way to work with the P72 ECU ?

(4) Where can i find a pin out diagram for a P72 and PWO ECUs?

Alright, if you still need the pinouts you can find both pinouts on hondaswap.com... If you keep the PW0 who's going to retune it for you...

if you upgrade to a SKUNK2 manifold for B18C/P72 head, you can retain the PW0 ecu and not have to worry about the seconday butteflies at all..

We plugged in everything, checked out all connections etc, fitted header and fitted a new battery. I put the key in the ignition and she fired up first crank! The idle was a bit high after the engine warmed up so we sorted that and took it out for a test drive to see how things all behaved. I was surprised at the low down power, i was expecting it to bog as the secondary butterflies would be constantly open, but it has way more low down power and torque now than the B16a ever could possibly have had. In second gear it was still ripping the tyres at 6000rpm so i had to lift off. It drives perfectly and the factory Y1 LSD tranny works well with the B18C. All in all it was an easy job with absolutely no problems and i'm glad the PWO ecu works well as i was dreading the thought of having to wire in a P72 ECU

BTW the PWO ECU has a feels program copy chip fitted with vtec x-over set at 4400rpm and 9k redline so thats possibly why the ecu works so well with the B18C
