Default OBD0 CEL question

I am not very familiar w/ OBD 0 Ecu's, I have 2 cel's, please help me ID the problem:

1. Codes flashing are 21 and 23. Searched and could only find obd1/2 code info. Im wondering if its the same as obd0. According to the OBD1 codes, these would be vtec solenoid and knock sensor.

2. To clear the memory on a OBD0 ecu, do I do the same thing as OBD1/2 ECU's, just unplug the neg battery cable for a few minutes?

3. To read the ecu pin out, do I start at the top left and read to the right? or do I read up and down?

Default Re: OBD0 CEL question (SilverCIVIC96)

1) OBD0/1 code heirarchy is the same. You got a PW0/PR3 ECU, I'm inferring.

2) Forget the negative battery cable, yank the Hazard fuse in the underhood fuse box for 15 seconds. It's easier, as well as being the factory recommended method.

3) starting at the upper left, you go up-down aka "zig-zag"
