Default O2 sensor heater code, is it important?

code 41, ecu p30.........my question is will it hurt to use the car with this code? what exactly does the O2 sensor heater do? common sence would say to heat the O2 sensor right?

My reason for this question is this.....i have a mugen chipped p28 and the p30 that has code 41......going to be running 75 shot dry this weekend, which is my best choise? and for all of you that say.... "chipped ecu will blow that thing up even with a 55 shot" it worked fine last week with the 55 shot, plugs looked great, egt's were good. But i doubt i will use it with the 75.....is the p30 still ok to use with that code?

The O2 sensor heater control is a powered sensor like the others regulates voltage to the ECU -- making it so the ECU knows the exhaust temp and can base a/f mappings more accurately.

Running any type of nitrous, I would highly recommend you wire it up or check wire connections between the o2 sensor heater control wires and the ECU pinouts.

A25 - yel/blk wire to the blk wire on the O2 sensor.
D22 - grn/wht wire to the grn wire on the O2
A6 - org/blk wire to the blk wire on the O2.

HTH.
