ive recently bought a 2000 (b16) si with i/h/e cam gears and act hd/ss. i dont feel its making the power it sohuld be. maybe one of my pistons may be out? my friends bone stock 99 eclipse GS (non-turbo) kept up with me!!!! a 2001 tip tronic prelude (3400lb) h22 though, pulled on me from a roll! im thinking of getting a compression test and leakdown test. what exactly is a leakdown test? can i get these done at any garage? how much would they charge? thanks alot

 

if my engine is one cylinder short or something, how can i tell ? can i find that out from the compression test? anything i can do to see wats wrong with simple/minor tools?

 

If it was really only running on 3 cylinders, you'd feel it even at idle.

 

oh, im sure there is something wrong though. its unbelievably slow.

yea it burns oil, the guy i bought it from says vtec burns oil though. i wasnt sure because not everybody says that. where are u from, which city

 

do the comression and leakdown and post the results up
