So i'm fairly new to just about everything. I recently got my own 89 civic sedan as just a little car to throw some spare money and spare time into. I saw a post on Instagram (image below) and the exhaust it had intrigued me. Now I understand what some of you may think - why? - but thats not important, nor what i came here for. i just need some answers.

IF i was to undergo this installation similar to the image, what are the drawbacks? any special maintenance? what to look out for? like what if water goes down into it, what would happen? anything like that. ANY information on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all so much.

 

Water intrusion can be a serious issue... and potentially dangerous if the volume of water is really heavy. Drill a couple of small holes facing downward at the lowest point of the exhaust before it turns up toward the sky... this will allow the water to drain. Check these holes often to make sure they are open and free of debris.
