i took my car to a shop to get a new clutch installed b/c the pressure plate failed on me...the mechanic replaced all the bearings, the rear main seal and the clutch/pressure plate. however, when i got the car back, the pressure was very weak for a normal prelude clutch and the engagement is very loose and high on the pedal..i think the cylinder needs to be bled.

but the real problem is when i go down the road; it makes a ticking sound and is really noticable from 40-60 mph...it's NOT rpm dependent, only speed dependent which means it has to be wheel, transmission, axle related correct? i've only got less than 100 miles on the new clutch..does it just need to be broken in? any help would be appreciated.

hrm i would say the ticking is from a bearing, but you said they were replaced. maybe the mechanic smashed one putting it in, i never had a clutch that ticked when it was being broken in.

 

well, i notice my car pulls to the right no matter what i do and we feel a very slight bind in the right tire so we think it's the the right cv axle or whatever it's called. maybe if it keeps getting worse it will tick?

 

maybe the mechanic fuked up the axle as he was putting it back in the car? Sometimes the passenger side axle needs a little 'encouragment' to get into the tranny. Besides the bleeding of the slave cylinder, I really don't see this being clutch related. good luck
