Need temporary fix for cracked radiator
I have a small crack on the top of my radiator where the mounting nipple is. Can I use JB Weld or anything to keep it from leaking until I get my new rad from C&R. Any ideas needed!!!! Evan
permatex also makes a gastank and radiator repair thing, its like clay or something, u just kneed(sp) it together and apply it, works great
Make sure the surface areas where the JB Weld, ect... will be applied, is throughly clean of coolant, paint, or any kind of residue. The last rad I repaired, I used some un-scented (if possiable) finger nail polish re-mover, it has "Acetone" in it. Which makes one of the best solvents to clean with. Evan using a tooth brush when possaibe, to reach/clean into the crack(s).
I have used it to clean my head and deck, when pulling/swapping head gaskets.... However, you will get some funny looks from the sells clearks tho... hehehe
Just a thouht...
