I am adding a integra lsd, integra ls fifth gear, and new gearspeed synchros
to a b16 trans that I am in the middle of working on. My question is the integra
manual I am following says to use a press to push the 3rd/4th gears synchro hub
onto the mainshaft, but when I took it apart get to the synchros, the hub assembly just fell apart in my hands like it had never been pressed at all. It might sound retarded, but is that press of the 3rd/4th and 5th synchro hub onto the mainshaft
absolutely necessary? Reason I am asking is because I am rebuilding this at my house and don't have easy access to a press.
