Okay, one of my ls trannies sitting around have a bad fourth gear of some sort (I posted about it awhile back). It seems as if there is no fourth gear slot at all; it goes in all gears except 4th (no slot/seems to be just a block wall).
Now I finally split open that sucka up and notice that there is nothing broken. I'm very confused though looking at all these gears, etc......don't know where to start. To check what needs to be changed/worn out, what do I do? What type of measuring tool and on what should I measure considering my 4th gear problem.
Please help ASAP, need to rebuild and sell this since I'm getting a type-r tranny in a few weeks. Thanks.

 

I would look at the 3-4 fork.

 

Looked at that already but doesn't look bent/broken. I'm gonna start taking all the gears/rings, etc. apart today. Any advice at all is always appreciated.

 

i just replaced the 3-4 sleeve set in an itr tranny (was grinding 3rd) and they didnt look that bad to me.. all i know is that it ground before the rebuild and its fine now..
