GSR's don't come with an LSD stock. If that one has one in it then It's been put in afterwards. If it needs oil then use Honda MTF, Redline MTF, or some 30 weight (ghetto imho).
use only honda MTF for stock or gear type LSDs. gear oil is way to heavy.
use mineral type 30-40 weight oil ( no need for synthetics).
KAAZ or other clutch type LSD will require their oil (ie. kaaz oil)

a few questions... who told you you need gear oil? the previous owner or a mechanic... if i'm correct in guessing... you're hearing a crunching noise and you think it's wierd? if so... you won the lottery and got a Kaaz LSD in there... get Kaaz tranny fluid, or else you risk damaging the Kaaz. if you just need fluid in the tranny... go with the Redline MTF 75w90 GL-4... works well w. B-Series trannies... more info on the LSD would help alot...

i guess a crunching noise. it makes a poping sound, you can hear the tires like barking on pavement when you turn sharp. two people told me that but they are not the most reliable. anyway we have bigger fish to fry. the motor is making a funny noise almost like it hasen't had a valve adj. in 50,000 miles. not sure going to look at it this weekend. thanks for the input everyone, its been helpful.
