Default Need help with choosing size for tires

Hey guys, I just got 16" rims and I need to know what size of tires I should get..
The tires that were on the rims were 205/45/16
My friends told me to get 205/50/16

what is the difference?

205 is the width of the tire and 45 is the hight of the sidewall and r 16 is the size of your rim. i personaly recomend going withthe 205/50/r16 due to pot whole and stuff but if you corner alot then go with 205/45/r16
