Need help on Bleeding Brakes.
I have a 00' Si, trying to bleed the brakes. What's the order. I had a friend do his and it felt spongy. After bleeding the brakes, the pedal had to be pressed down to the floor to make his car stop. Why is that and what can I do to prevent that? Any help would be apprecitated.
Start with the corner farthest away from the master cyclinder...I am guessing it is the rear driver side on the Si.
Turn the car on so that the ABS light comes on but dont start your car.
Proceed bleeding each corner. Pump 5-10 times, hold brake down, and bleed, tighten, start over. Do this till you dont see airbubbles come out in the brake fluid. I think 5 times is usually good.

The first time I bled the brakes, I just slowly pumped while the bolt was loosened. This might be a way to bleed other manufacturer's brakes (like the family Plymouth Voyager), but it obviously didn't work on my Honda. The technique that smeister described (pump 5-10 times then loosen bolt, close, repeat) is what's outlined in the Helm's manual and after bleeding my brakes that way, the pedal felt MUCH better.
I have to do this to my 92 GS-R as well. The Helms manual calls for a special tool to pump the ABS, how do you guys get around that?
