need some advice on getting this damn tranny remounted i cant get it lined up. first project ive done on an engine and i had to drop the tranny (what was i thinkin) its a BEAR and 25 baby bears
dropped tranny to replace clutch, most of that ran pretty smooth but now i could really use some advice on gettin it back on

 

while you are mounting the tranny, try rotating it a little bit back and forth.

 

If everything is lined up properly it should go on without a hiccup as you tighten down the bolts. If not, then it's not lined up. It's that simple.

 

Yeah, sometimes you have to pull the tranny back out, spin the shaft a little and then try again. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

 

Did you use a clutch alignment tool? If the clutch is not lined up properly, you can fight that tranny forever and not get it in. Put a very light coating of multi-purpose grease on the input shaft, it will slide in easier.
