my itr engine
my itr with about ~80,000 miles on it, is giving me some problems..
its smoking.. most of the time its black. Its also spitting oil out, and there is a build up of oil and water type substance and the end of the exhaust. Think it could be the ecu not tuned right? the valve seals? rings? head gasket? all ideas are considered.. any questions to figure out the problem easier... just ask.

black smoke is burning oil, prolly valve guides. my friends motor is a gsr with 95k miles on it and it has bad rings already, so it could be either. white smoke is normally headgasket, so i doubt ur headgasket is bad.
ecu tuning shouldn't be a problem, but what ecu are you using?

white smoke is bad, i prolly take care of that asap. to the people who think oil doesnt burn black, go look at any of the million gsr's that smoke from bad valve guides. sure looks black to me.
