Default Mufller tip size??? Need Quick Answer *pics*

I just had my exhaust done with jdm itr 4-1 header/flex pipe/hi flow cat/ 2.5" piping/ es oval. MY problem is that he welded on a 2.25" pipe to the end of the muffler which is 2.5". Would this restrict my air flow and should I have him cut it off and put a 2.5" one on?? The whole point of my exhaust was to have a full 2.5" exhaust.

I would cut it off and leave it off. Having a polished muffler welded to a mild pipe looks pretty tacky.

hmm if I cut it off then the muffler will look weird because ii sits so far back. Should I have him cut the tip off and move the hangers farther back? Also just wondering will the TIP restrict my airflow because of the diameter difference?

well..it's kinda ghetto looking with the tip welded to your stock pipe. As air flow restricting..I don't think so. It wouldn't make any diff cause all you're adding on is just the tip of your stock muffler. Just wondering, are you trying to have some sound out of your muffler?? If so, a cheap way is to cut off your resenator (if that's how you spell) and replace it with a 2.5" pipe since that's your exhaust pipe is. It will make the sound diff.

I don't think that it's going to really hurt your performance too much, you might lose .037 of a hp, but nothing to lose sleep over.

Due to the length of pipe, I don't think it would make any notable difference.

I would recommend that you have a chrome tip (that slides tightly over the tube) added for looks.

Yea, pretty sure you're already getting restriction from the muffler ahead of it anyways. Even if you had straight 2.5" all the way back, and reduced it to 2.25" at the tip, I doubt you'd see any difference. Just a little extra velocity, which isn't exactly where you want it, but oh well...
