Default mounting oil pressure sensor to vtec pressure switch test fitting

i would like to use my oil pressure and oil temp gauges but dont really feel comfortable having them all dangle on one single piece of brass fitting.

i dont mind it beeing on the front either
the oem pressure switch and temp sensor for gauge are both small.
but the pressure sending unit for the gauge is not so small.

i found that theres the opening for vtec pressure switch testing right next to the vtec solenoid( the bolt on the front of the head in the picture)

will it read the same pressure as the one on the back of the block?

i think that bolt is only fed when vtak is engaged, i might be wrong though. otherwise people would just get their oil feed from there more easily.

you can get steel fittings for the back of the block or do it the right way and get the golden eagle filter plate that filters the oil going to the turbo.

i dont have a turbo.
was just curious cuz it seemed like there was different oil pressure specified for testing the vtec pressure switch.
and i didnt want to get fittings cuz thres 3 sensors need to be mounted on it thats asking for snapped fitting.

do i just add the oil sandwich plate on top of stock oil cooler?

I used the golden eagle oil plate on my b series and just threaded the sensor directly into the sandwich adapter and used the second port for my oil feed.I was also under the impression the best way to get a accurate reading of oil pressure is to have the oil flows past the sensor and try not to cause and disturbance in the flow and as far as temp goes the oil filter is about as good a place as you can get without getting too complicated.

i also could not find any info on the operation of stock oil pressure sending unit.
does it work like stock O2 sensor open or closed circuit only ir does it actually read exact oil pressure like aftermarket unit does.

I never could find out a answer to that question either but my guess is it is either on or off which triggers the light but I have heard of people that track their cars taking hard corners and the light comes on so come up with your own conclusion.

according to manual the stock sensor sends a blinking signal when the oil pressure is interrupted for more than .5 seconds.
and constant light if the pressure drops for longer perios so i think it is open/closed circuit.

but after looking at the manual and trying to understand what exactly does that vtec pressure point test measures i cant figure out.

LOL thats why I kinda gave up trying to figure it out.HT is great for info but sometimes its too much.I just use the sensor off of my defi gauge and make sure the motor is getting good pressure.I also wanted to use the location on the back of the block but I have tons of stuff which would have definitely broken the brass fitting. You can also put the sensor into the oil pump I believe and z10 used to or still makes a fitting for that.Correct me if I am wrong.
