" If there is something wrong with the engine clearances from the factory you'll find out about it soon enough no matter how easy or hard you run the engine. "
haha i have always said that, and practice this. When i first started at acura i was told the same.

i totally agree.... i put the engine together run it in the garage (warm up) and also that give the new nearings time to "shed" make sure it has no leaks ... drive it arroun d the block slowly... stop... check for leaks drive through all 5 gears normal driveing for about 1 mile... U-turn 1st gear normal driving ...2nd gear full throttle and then 3rd and 4 th about 3/4 throttle... and then im on my way to 900-1000 driving normal with many "romps" on the throttle in every gear.... have NEVER had a problem...

Anyways, I don't think I trust what this guy is saying. It sounds like it makes sence, but it goes against that I've heard from all manufactures and engine builders before hand. How could I just ignore what I've heard and listen to one person's opinion from the internet?? Does anybody agree? disagree?

i know in fact that if u break-in the new motor too easy ( no load ) the rings will not sealed properly
but on the other hand what will happened if u break-in the new motor violently like the one mentioned at http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm ????????

my buddy had a boxster S with only 7000 miles spin a bearing and shoot a rod through the block because 1/3 of the origional boxster s motors from porsche were clearenced incorrectly.

Best way to break in a motor is upon initial start up let engine run at 2500 rpm for 20 minutes while monitering oil press and coolent temp as well as checking for any leaks. this higher rpm is so that the camshaft seats proper. dont let a new engine idle excessively. after 20 min. let engine idle, set timing and any other adjustments eg carb etc.. then change oil and filter. drive vehicle on a long road and accelerate from approx 30 mph. to 55 mph. then decccellerate back to 30 mph. DO THIS ATLEAST 10 TIMES. WHAT THIS DOES IS ON ACCELERATION IT HELPS TO SEAT THE RINGS AND ON DECELL THE HIGH VACCUM HELPS OIL THE CYLINDER WALLS.
AFTER DRIVE NORMALLY FOR 500 MILES THEN OIL CHANGE AGAIN. AFTER THIS GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!
