Default This may be a silly question but.....

Do the cam caps on a DOHC engine limit the development of more aggressive cams in any way? I have seen some pics of heads where the top of the cam lobes and the bottom of the cam caps were pretty close to touching, at least it looked as so in the pics.

I should say: the cam holder plates and not the cam caps!

an aggressive cam is bigger in the height of its lift, not the width of its lobe

Isn't that in direct correlation with the overall highest point on any given individual lobe?
