MAP sensor, CEL comes on when i either get on it or the BOV goes off, photo's
whats goin on guys....my check engine light goes off and gives a code 3 for a map sensor, the check engine comes on only when im in low RPM, bring it to WOT and start boosting, or if i bring it to WOT while im at high RPM's and when the blow off valve goes off, press the clutch...let off of the gas, when i turn my car off and back on the check engine light goes away, and comes back when i floor it or let go off the gas, get out of gear, so on...
oh yeah...its a 93 civic DX with a d15b7, now..when i bought the car the throttle body had this little thing in it....could this be the problem?? it is a foreign object!! https://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y4...e/PA140001.jpg https://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y4...e/PA140002.jpg or could it be that the vacuum line to my BOV is to long, i've heard the shorter the better?? https://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y4...e/PA140006.jpg could it be that my BOV is open to much or to less? https://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y4...e/PA140009.jpg or is the MAP sensor faulty? or however its spelled. all help/advice is greatly appreciated!, thank you in advance!! https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif |

Re: (I Have an STD)
did u try adding oneway valve on map sensor vacum line and move your boost gauge vacum line to the fuel regulator line?
|
its got a greddy e-manage piggy back system....the blue box
how do i add a oneway valve on the map sensor vacum line? and where is the fuel regulator line? |

coommee oonnn info.

Re: (project-boosteD)
On the fuel rail should be a brownish colored cylindrical object with a small diameter hose running to it. That's the fuel regulator and line I believe was mentioned.

MAP DEFENDER, what is happening is that your map is actually reading the boost, so you need to get a defender to stop it from reading boost at Open throttle...
|
you need a check valve not a one way valve .
if you put in a one way valve in line with the MAP sensor it will hold pressuer abnd really screw up your program , a check valve will let pessuer out before the map can see the boost , or you can get crome/uberdata for free and never have to worry about any of this stuff , and ditch the "boxes" oh and there both free |
where can i get crome/uberdata?
and also...i thought honda MAP's were good till 11psi?...im only runnin 5.5 Modified by project-boosteD at 1:40 PM 10/19/2005 |

bump it
|
Re: (project-boosteD)
the check valve bleed off boost to the atmosphere. its ghetto. contact xenocron, or zerodaze or and of the 3000 other tuners who use uberdata and crome

bump it</TD></TR></TABLE> that random metal thing is NOT supposed to be there. it is the spot where the idle adjustment screw is located. are you sure that the "box" you have is properly wired into the car? |
