Default Major bogging

I just swaped a b18b1 into my 95 civic but when ever i give it gas it will make up to about 2000-3000 rpm then bog down almost to die. It also has a rough idle but i have messed with the idle screw and throttle cable but i havent been able to settle it down. I have not yet been able to get the rpms over 3k yet. Any ideas. Thanks

how do you tell if it is working or not? The only problem that i do know of with it is that it does not have a gasket anymore.

you may have air in the cooling system , the idle air control valve will do exactly what you say if that is the case.
