Default main bearings too loose?

alright building my boosted ls vtec. anyways first build so im a little worried bout the main bearing clearance. im using clevites and my clearance (after using plastigage) is right at .002 maybe a hair under at .0019 on all the bearings. I like that they are all about the same but they are on the loose end. I've heard a few people that run them at .002 but want some real experience with it. You guys think this will be ok for my car? (its not gonna be a racer but dont think its gonna be a daily driver either). any help would be appreciated

I would run it, but I like to run slightly loose clearances.

not a big deal just make sure you have a good oil pump since pressure will be down a little bit with the looser clearance.

.002" is fine.

Performance engines need looser bearing clearances. A good rule of thumb is about .001" for every 1 inch of journal diameter. Looser bearing clearances will allow more oil to flow over the bearings, keeping them cooler, and giving the crank a little more room to move under the higher power a performance engine makes. Personally, I'd probably run it even a little looser, like .0025".
