Default Magnaflow Exhaust too rusty???

So I am thinking about buying a used magnaflow system from this guy and he has had it for 2 years..He lives in Ohio so the piping is "lightly rusted" as he claims...here is a picture of the exhaust system. Will I have problem with this pipe being tooo rusty and possibly crack or get a hole in it?? Thanks..

how much is he asking? from the pic you showed, it doesn't look too bad, just kinda looks like surface rust. it could probably be sanded and repainted, and you would be good for a couple years. exhausts don't last forever though, and i'd say 2 years is a good chunk of it.

my brothers car has had the same exhaust on it for four years with no probs. but we live in riverside with no rust so it would depend on the asking price

rust all depends on where you live really..
if ur out here in cali, ur not gonna get much rust..

but if ur in like freakin alaska.. yeah rust will be a problem..

just get him to send you a better higher resolution picture if you're worried, that way you can tell for sure how rusty it is..

it doesnt look that bad to me though..
any exhaust is gona look like *** after a year or so anyways, u just dont want thick nasty rust deposites that might continue to rust and burn a hole in it..

its doesnt look TOO bad IF I got it I would just sand it all then paint it with a good high temp paint...esp aroung the welds.

Put it on, by the time it rusts out, you will probably want a different sound or your car will be stolen... sorry, but it's the truth.

Umm... you take sand paper and rub it on the metal. The reason for this is to get the coating off the stainless and part of the rust dust off... paint adheres better to a clean platform

hey man,
if you don't feel right about buying something used on the internet DON'T DO IT

very good rule to follow,
cuz you'll learn very quickly that there'll always be something better for you to buy.

You'll almost never been in a position where you've just got to buy something or else u'll be out of luck.

just pass on it or try to get him to slice his price
