Default which lsd? spoon quaife type r or obx

just ditched the h22 out my car in favor of a 00 gsr. i need to buy an lsd quick in time for autocross. which one would be best? Spoon Quaife Type r or an obx

If you are not boosting, the ITR LSD is the cheapest and best choice for the helical designs. I've had my go arounds with Quaife, and they could not convince me of any advantage over an ITR LSD. They will not disclose their torque bias ratio, which is a key design point that affect their lifetime warranty.

I'll come right out and say this, OBX is garbage.

So the itr lsd is helical right? i found one for 450 is there anything i need to check to make sure it is still in good shape?

Yes. The ITR, Quaife, and OBX LSDs are all helical.

try looking at kaaz or cusco clutch type lsd. I use kaaz and you can change the amount of locking you what. Quaife is around a 65% locker and the clutch type ones can be set to 100% locker. I like these better http://www.kaazusa.com/, http://www.optionimports.com/typers1way.html

For the helical units, the Quaife is your choice in that situation, as the ITR differential can be of questionable reliability with that power. You are probably far better off with a clutch pack unit in that scenario.
