Default LS/VTEC and VTEC Crossover

I have Hondata with a ls-vtec setup. Stock gsr head and valve train setup with a LS bottom end and JDM ITR pistons yielding a 11.6:1 compression. The vtec is set at 5400. The car pulls hard after vtec. Can i set the vtec activation lower? Does anyone have any personal experience here?

If you have a gsr intake mani then try setting it at 4400 since that is when a gsr's vtec kicks in, the secondaries should open up at 5800 and you will be on your way.

If not I would bring it to a tune shop and have it done correctly, on a dyno.
