Icon2 LS vtec piston/valve clearance questions

Hey guys new here to honda-tech and had a few questions i couldn't get answers to anywhere. Anyways i'm building an LS vtec and i will be using a 01 spec ITR head with skunk2 Pro series stage 2 cams. I was wondering if using basically factory sized pistons (meaning it would basically be like i never removed anything) would be ok for my clearances on the valves? I'm going to order some h beams, wiseco forged pistons, and darton m.i.d.'s and sleeving and boring them out to around 83mm i think. I will be boosting afterwards, this is just the build up to prepare the engine for it, so i didn't want to get carried away with compression. The head is brand new so there has been nothing milled off of the surface, so that is one thing to rule out. Anyways if anyone can enlighen me as to if my tolerances in the engine will be ok i would appreciate it, thanks

those cams need to be degreed in...and if using aftermarket piston you wont have any problems...but oem the valves might hit...u need to clay it...but pro2s are too big for most turbo set ups...anything under 800whp and a top mount or equal lenght manifold you shouldnt go higher than pro1s...sell them or trade for pro 1s if your going to boost..

ok sounds good i haven't ordered the cams yet luckily lol so if i use the pro 1's i should be good as far as clearance? I am using aftermarket pistons just don't know which ones to go with yet to ward off piston/valve slap

as long as you dont use oversize valves you should be ok...with aftermarket pistons unless your head is milled and your block decked there should be no p2v contact..but you still have to check to see how far you can advance and retard your cam gears...and v2v has to be checked also...but those cams are making crazy power on boost...the pro2 are more for all motors builds...go on the all motor forum alot more people there that have knowledge on pro 1s and 2s...

v2v as in valve to valve contact? The head has skunk2 pro series valves, and springs but they're not oversized so i should be ok that way

yea valve to valve and your fine with std size valves...theirs an article here that explains how to do v2v u adjust camgears at maximum advance and retard that you will use and with a feeler gauge check intake to exhaust valve clearance....for example you do +5 and -5 and check i think the minimum should be .035...if its tighter than that then you know you cant go that far apart...
