ls vtec bottom end build
ok so first off i am new to the tech section so hello anway having some issues i have a gsr head on a ls block or as we say ls vtec build and i bout it from a buddy with a spun bearing i have bought a new crank which the old one was really bad scared so i have done alot of research on the bottom end my buddy used the ls rods "not shot pined" and stock pistons and i am looking to upgrade and wanting to do turbo sooner or later i know low compression pistons but not sure on what type and also rods do i upgrade to forged or stay stock and shot pin dont care about money and also my goal is over 300 hp would love to do 350 hp any help would be great that you for the help
research. no one can tell you how to build and what parts to use its all a preference kind of thing. but remember you get what you pay for as far as pistons vitaras are good and relatively cheap. like i said research and see what you think would work best for you.

I've had success with Wiseco and Arias pistons. I'd run something like 10.0:1 to 10.7:1 compression; low compression for turbo is a thing of the past.
I'm not a fan of LSVTEC setups but I'd definitely recommend upgrading the rods like you've stated. I'm not sure how much shot peening costs but rods aren't excessively expensive if they are in your budget.
You don't have to go all out to make 350WHP but with the extra rod stroke having a solid bottom end would be nice. At the very least shot peened rods with ARP hardware.

doood you're right op disregard what i said. wiseco is a wise choice for b series pistons especially for a good turbo setup. engines like high compression but must have the necessities and the right build to run high compression when boosting. never really understood why everyone is all about low compression. wiseco pistons eagle rods acl bearings arp hardware ftw.
