ls is knocking help please
I have a 96 integra ls. Couple weeks ago it started making a rattling sound when I started the car up after it had been cold for a while. If I started it up after it had been running recently (like within 5 minutes) it wouldn't do it. I took it to Honda and had them adjust my valves b/c I thought it might just be a noise rocker arm or something. When I picked it up it still did it so I didn't know what the hell was going on. The other night I was driving home and downshifted from 5th to 4th to pull over and get something to drink and it made a horible knocking sound and died. Get back to my shop and pulled the valve cover and the valve train looks fine except that there is excessive play on the timing belt in between the cam sprockets like it's off a notch. I thought it was a bearing but then I saw that and it started making me think otherwise. Is there any reason that my timing belt would be loose is I spun a bearing? or is there anyway a loose timing belt could cause a bearing to spin? Thanks
