Default lots of smoke and buring oil

ok...i am burning a significant amount of oil (1 quart/250 miles) and yes, I admit to running the motor hard...its a JDM itr b18c and i was told when i bought it, the smoke at WOT from vtec to redline was due to the motor being untuned and running on a stock VX fuel pump...the mods on the motor include a mugen p28 ecu and CTR pistons...and a VAFC that is set at running really rich fuel wise to compensate for the high compression and stock fuel pump...what could this be from?...there is alot of smoke blue/black i'm told from vtec to redline...valve seals is my guess, i had a compression test performed and it was great 260 to 275 across or something like that...my guess is the valve seals possibly the rings...how much is it to replace these items, labor wise...thanks for all the help...

it's your rings bro...could be valve seals but if your burning that much oil it's definetley your rings...im assuming you did not tune your a/f ratio to seat your rings when you got the ctr pistons put in...as for replacing your irngs...it all depends on the shop...who you know...and how muich you pay for the rings.

Yup, it's the rings. They should smoke a good bit at startup and at WOT in high RPM's.

A shop is prob. going to charge a good bit to replace them, but it's worth it if you're losing that much oil.

yeah you washed out your rings. you need to get new rings and you will have to hone the cylinder walls. then from there go to the dyno for tunning. to rich is not always good.......

thanks for all the help...i bought the car with the motor as it is right now, so the VAFC tuning is on part of the previous owner...so it looks like replacing the rings and valve seals is required...
