Default Loss of power with v-tec

Set up
88 CRX si
b16a PR3 ECU
Fields sfc controller

I have on code 17 for vss no other codes, and the Fields kicks in the v-tec

when it does there is a loss of power

the A/F gauge says the fuel is rich when the v-tec crosses over..

any ideas on why?

thanks

Maybe because you keep putting a dash in VTEC.

Seriously, its probably because the feilds forces the car into VTEC, but the ecu is still running on the low cam ignition map. I have no idea why youre running rich though.

I did not know that the ignition map changes...

sounds like I should tackle this vtec issue after the vss issue is fixed then..

thanks.. for the info

the cel does stop it from engaging with out the field SFC... The Field SFC engages the vtec
