Looking for ways to smooth out a bumpy ride
I have a very bumpy ride thus far with my 1988 crx-dx and need some help figuring out how to smooth out how my car rides.
My car is currently lowered about 1 1/2 inches from the stock height.
I am currently running on 205-40-16 kumho tires with Skunk 2 coilovers (400 spring rate on the front/300 spring rate on the back), with stock struts.
I am changing my stock struts to Koni Yellows this week, but I am wondering if there is something else that would also be contributing to the bumpy ride I have.
I am experiencing rebound but I also hit the bottom (roughing up the bottom of my header a bit) more so than I should.
Any suggestions that you all have would be great.

Just an idea but what pressure are your tires running at? Usually dropping a few psi will smooth out the ride alot. The reason this works is: Let's say your running a 205/45-16,and the max tire pressure is 35psi and it will support a load of 900 pounds. Well you take 900*4=3,600 pounds. Now if your car only weights 2,000 pounds your tires don't need to be at max. pressure. Lowering the pressure will make it ride better. In my 67 Camaro (The rides fine in the crx) I run 28psi in the front and 18psi in the rear and it rides great. Experiment(sp) with pressure until it rides better. It is also good to use a pyrometer to check the temp across the tread pattern. Try to keep the temp. the same all the way across. Look on your side wall and find your max pressure and drop it accordingly from there. Also, changing tire pressure will affect your launching and cornering. I would keep a log of what different pressure does to the car. goodluck

DO NOT REMOVE tire pressure Rembber the ford EXplodeders. keep the tires at what is says on the side wall it there for a reason. if you want a smoother ride get ride of the coil overs and get a set of progressive springs with a good shock thats adjustable !
