Default linear/pregressive springs and rates

I searched google to try and learn a little bit more about the differences between linear and progressive springs and came across these links:

http://www.nichols.nu/tip334.htm
http://dustin_palmer.tripod.com/Prelude/suspension.html

seemed to help a bit, but I've got a few questions:

1. How are the spring rates noted on progressive springs?
2. Does anyone know the rates for 92-95 Eibach Sportline springs?

TIA

You can call eibach and they can probably tell you. although someone has a link to most common spring rates.
