Default kragen axles?

so i went to kragen today to exchange my core for a new axle on the driver side of my 00 si. i looked at it and it's almost twice as long as the core i brought in. it looks like this rebuilt axle they sell at kragen combines the axle and half shaft...which means to put this one in i'd have to remove my half shaft from the tranny. is there any disadvantage to using this design of axle? also, do i have to drain the tranny fluid before removing the half shaft? thanks for all replies

It's a single cam axle. Go get your'e core back and have it rebuilt you don't want a cheapo axle.
