KEY CODE QUESTION: I lost my keys and its a salvage title, PLEASE HELP!
So I take my title and ID down to the honda dealership and they cut me a key that only works for the locks, not the ignition. My car is a salvage title, so the ignition must have been replaced. I took off the covering that surrounds the ignition, and searched for the key code. The stamp on the ignition reads
Honda Lock Japan
"sm5-72"
Is sm5-72 the key code? It seems too short to be the code. When I was at the dealership the attnedant told me that I would have to take the ignition apart. He brought out another ignition and showed me that the key code was not stamped on teh outside of it. i am hjoping this is the code, cause it will onyl cost me 12 bucks to get a key made.
Does anyone know if this is the right format? I dont want to have to drop my ignition.
