Default JG throttle body. To much flow...?

I have a b16 with skunk 2 intake manifold, fuel pressure reg. fuel rail, and cold air intake. If i got a 65mm JG throttle body would that be to much air i would lose HP?

The size of the TB is based on what IM you have. Your IM should be based on your powerband, and how much power you are making. Finally your Intake piping should be based on the size of your TB bore.

They all work together as a system.

You misplan and get one wrong part its going to hurt your potential performance.

The Skunk2 IM is very simmilar (if not the same?) as the ITR manifold. So you would want the same size TB as the ITR (62mm).

So at this poing 65mm would be too big. And with your current mods your IM is probably just slowing you down at this point too.

The ITR IM was designed with the ITRs cams, higher compression, head, taking into consideration.

I don't know a ton about the b16 engine, but my guess is that the cams are milder than the ITR. You may want to get aftermarket cams before buying a TB.

Its not about too much air, its about AIR QUANTITY vs AIR VELOCITY

More air quantity is going to benifit you in the higher RPM range ASSUMING your engine can take advantage of the increased amount of air.

When you increase the diameter of something like your TB, you are sacrificing air velocity for increased air quantity. If your engine can't take advantage of the increased air quantity, you are just slowing down the air the rest of the time and gutting your midrange.
