Default Jasper Engines and Transmissions (you got to read this)

Well I work at a shop and we mostly do engine swaps in domestic vehicles...but this year we have probably done like 15 jdm swaps. (Toyotas, Mazdas, Hondas, Nissans, ect) Well I wrecked my civic before I put my b18c1 into it and I've been looking for a CRX to put my swap into and I decided to sell my gsr tranny and get a cable one instead...well anyways Jasper stopped by the shop today...they said they are selling crate racing motors for hondas and doing performance trans for hondas too...just not any other import besides hondas yet. So we got in a long talk with my boss. Anyways they said they would sell me a 93 integra tranny with level 2 upgrades and a lsd(with 3 year warranty/75000)for $2400 plus buy my gsr tranny with 3rd grinding and buy my crx tranny and civic tranny for a total of $800. So the tranny would cost me $1600 with a three year warranty...not bad if you ask me. What do you guys think? Jasper always was interested in how many jdm swaps we are doing because they might start selling jdm swaps too...weird stuff if you ask me. Well I thought I would let you guys know.

what exactly do the "level 2 upgrades" consist of? I think your GSR tranny is worth more than that and Id prefer to have the GSR tranny built up because I like the gear ratios.

A new stock LSD is about $600 give or take, a new ITR transmission is about $2200 give or take. Without knowing what upgrades they did to the shafts, bearing, gears and our favorite-to-break parts: syncrhos... Why pay $2400 for a old, used transmission when you can have a 0 mile ITR box for about the same (if you can find it)?

It's good to see that these companies see some demand in engines. There are a ton of swaps being done, and they want a piece of the pie.

Stage 2 means nothing without a list of upgrades. Get them to supply you with some more information.

uh, ya might wanna call and check with jasper before this post gets to long. I work at a shop that is also a Jasper dealer and our rep comes in all the time, I've shown him my race car several times, and asked him " when is Jasper going to take a step into the import market?". His answer is always " well Jap stuff has, just to tight of tolerances in their engines and trans, we havent been able to perfect it yet."
I am not saying that your bullshittin, but dont always believe what you hear. my 2 cents
