im buying a jdm motor itr.. how much compression should i look for? i mean in the gauge it will sayo something like 180 or something how do i convert it to like 11.5 or something?.. and whats the stock compression ratio of the jdm itr motor? in psi plsss..

you cant convert compression test numbers into an actual compression ratio.
Too many variable factor in which make it near impossible to guess.

Just look for around 200-220 on the comp tester and make sure all 4 are within 5-10 of each other

 

If its out of the car cold and motor is turned by hand look for 130-150 psi. Thats what my JDM GSR did when i turned it by hand after i put it in the car turned it on warmed it up and turned it with the started it did 220/210/215/215.

 

Itr block should be at about 240 psi.

The manual says that 184psi is the minimum so if you are above 200psi it's fine.
