Default Instrument Cluster fuse blowing!!

On my 92 LX D15, my instrument cluster fuse keeps blowing when I turn the lights on. It was working fine, I haven't done any unusual modifications, and last night it just blew, and I tried replacing the fuse a couple times, but as soon as I turn on the lights, it blows! Has anyone had this problem? Or any ideas on troubleshooting.

check the headlight wiring/bulbs for grounding out touching

also if this does not fix it, check a good know working headlight switch/try these

good luck (it should be a wiring issue, sounds like somethings touching/grounding out)

Thanks... To add to my previous post... My headlights are still fully functional. Low beams, highbeams. Just the 4 ways do not work and the signals lights do not light up when turning on the switch. The signals work, and they work out side the car to, but not the regular lights.

so when does it blow the fuse if HEADLIGHTS work yet u said it blows the fuse when u turn on headlights

i need more correctly described symptoms
sounds like if turn signals or parkin lights aint workin, or not flashing but work..
which one is it, if they dont flash just hazard switch and/or relay

if they dont come on at all/or blow fuse check those lights for grounding issue
its obvious a wiring issue if it works on the turn signals but not hazard?

sorry if im ramblin its late at work

OK! Let me and try and explain again... The intrument cluster fuse is the one that keeps blowing, disabling the instrument cluster lights, the parking lights, and the four ways.

I've replaced the fuse a bunch of times, and everytime I turn the headlights on, (turning the switch that turns the headlights on, and the parking lights and the instrument cluster lights), it blows the fuse. The headlights still work no problem.

I think this sums it up!

check the taillight bulbs, license plate bulbs, radio, and anything else ont hat fuse, see if bulbs are grounding etc, i think the reverse light is even on that, if so check the wiring by the front of trans, were the 2 wires plug into reverse switch, and again
good luck its a ground prob somewhere shorting it out

Yeah had the same problem with my EK last week. I went threw a whole pack of fuses LOL. Come to find out one of the wires on my cd player was grounding out on some metal in there and causing the short so the fuse would blow. If you have an aftermarket stereo pull it out of there and make sure all your wires are taped and not making contact with stuff they shouldnt be.

Ok everyone, I found the problem... It happened to be a broke wire behind the stereo deck. When I pulled it out I saw the wire. I put in a new fuse and tried the lights again, and it's worked without blowing. So I taped up the wire and it works fine now.

Thanks for all your help!!
