Default Injector Purge (Cleaning)

Hey Guys, Does anyone know if it's possible to remove
an injector, hook up an independent dc power source
to fire it? Trying to see the spray pattern.
If so what voltage?

Im having some idle issues and i thought i might be able to diagnose
and at least clean them up a little.

Thanks Guys

You can use 4 mason jars with holes in their lids and do the test in the engine bay. Hook the injectors back up to the fuel rail and stick the tips in the lid holes. If you drill the holes right, the lids will support the injectors. This way, you can see exactly how the injectors are working with your fuel and electrical systems and how much each one fills its jar. You'll want to unscrew a few harness mounting points to provide extra wire length. Carefully clean the screens at the rail end of each injector before testing. Simple green works well. Rinse the screens from the injector side like any washable filter and dry completely without heat. Plug fuel system ends with a clean rag while they are disconnected to keep dust out.
