Default IM: Coolent bypass

I need to know if this is a good/stupid idea.

I'm going to be bypassing my coolent that is running through the intake manifold. However, since I'm in Seattle we get a couple weeks a year (max) that get into freezing temperatures. Would it even be a good idea to try to fill the intake manifold with fluid, then plug the lines up? Is this even possible? Or would the coolent just heat up while engine is running and therefore heat up the intake temps - which is exactly what I'm trying not to do. I don't want to risk a stuck throttle during cold weather, any weather at that, or does letting your car idle elimnate this anyway?

Any help would be appreicated!

not a good idea. it can cause ur car to idle really weird and not warm up propperly.

its been proven to not gain anything in powerwise for most cars. just leave it on

put mine back on.

The intake manifold gets too much heat soak from the engine anyway.

If you really want to reduce temps, get a Hondata intake manifold gasket.

the TB, FITV and IACV can be bypassed if you want to.

i have had no problems on my OBD0 setup.

i also have a 4mm phenolic insulating gasket between my IM and head.

after driving on the freeway my IM is actually cold.

once i stop drving, the heat in the engine bay slowly warms the IM up, so it is hot in about 30minutes...

so it is not too much help at the drags, but on the track, it is great.

noi idle problems, but i dont live in a cold climate...

HTH,

t..

ive put a piece of aluminum (beer can) in between the FITV and the throttle body and i dont have any strange idling behavior when my motor is cold.
