Default idle problems! ! ! car revs like it has cams

i have a 93 civic wit a 94 B18C swap. when i start the car its normal but after like a min or two it will start to idle up and down from 1000rpm to 3000 rpm . after the car is warmed up it only revs up to 2000 rpms. it sounds like i have racing cams. if anyone has any idea to what the problem is i would be interested to know. thanks!

Could be a number of things. I would first check the IACV. I would also check your coolant and make sure there are no air bubbles in the cooling system. Could also be a vacumn leak on the intake manifold.

"idle problems! ! ! car revs like it has cams"

Most cars do have cams, LoL. Just kidding...I had the same problem on my LS and was going to swap out the IACV and the other sensor below the TB, but I found another manifold and just swapped out the whole thing and it fixed it.

are you getting a check engine light at all ?

have you done anything to the engine recently that might have contributed to this change in idle?

...I want to say tighten your idle adjustment screw, but I'm not sure that will fix your problem.
