Default I NEED HELP head gasket replacment

okay here is the run down. I am a VOLKSWAGEN DUDE alright. but i just picked up a 89' Prelude 2.0 S which a bad head gasket.

what parts for sure am i going to need. i know i'll need new a new gasket and head bolts. but what are some things i need to do... is there any advice/tips u guys can give this VW dude? i know w/ my 16v VW motor i can do this in a matter of 3 hours for the whole job but i dont know honda motors well... so any tips would be great

valve cover gasket. get a new timing belts, and water pump.

oh yes valve cover gaskets, that always slips my mind.. timing belt.. not a problem as well. but water pump eh? man i am so used to vw .. why would u have to change the pump? i mean if it's good n all

everytime you change your timing belt is recommended to change your water pump.
if you think is good and it looks like it been replace just leave it there

Yeah, it's not necessary, but it's a pain in the *** to go in there again to do it. You should resurface the head as well, especially since it probably overheated. Nice car BTW, my uncle had a 2.0Si with the 4ws, looked just like that, I loved that car almost as much as a CRX.

that is a pic i took of it today when i was at the JUnkyard getting parts for the honda haha yeah i know u guys are probably thinking that deserves to be in a junkyard but nah, i love my VW
