maybe you guys can help me out well i have a mitsubishi pajero 1998 its exactly the same as the 1998 montero there in the US

my problem: well i was driving in circles to get the navigation thingy working and then after going after how many times in circles my steering became so hard to steer... whenever i press on the gas its easy to steer but when its just sitting there its so hard to steer. So imagine me at a stop sign *WIDE TURNS maybe you guys can help??? oh and my pajero doesnt use a fan belt for the steering whatever that means... Any answers? maybe the whole steering pump is fucked up or i just have to replace a part in the steering pump??
