Damn they said no? Unfortunately unless you have a specal motor tester your out of luck. Take the alternator to another store and remind them if they want your business they should check your alternator. You said they COULD NOT? They have ways of checking every alternator in exsistance.

I know that Advanced Auto can do this. They should be able to tell you how many amps it is putting out also.
