How to tell the difference between an ITR and GSR throttle body?
I purchased an ITR throttle body from someone on thepartstrader.com and received the one I have pictures below. I had thought GSR throttle bodies are 60mm and ITR's were 64mm intake side. Though, I had also heard that you can bore a ITR throttle body to 68-70mm intake side as well... I'm guessing this is a GSR throttle body that's been ported out a little bit? Since according to my calipers ~62.7mm intake side and ~61.1mm manifold side. Though obviously it would be impossible to get this out to 68mm intake side.
I haven't contacted the seller yet, but did I get the wrong throttle body? He did mention that he had 3 GSR throttle bodies lying around... If anyone wants addigional pictures to help identify, let me know.
TIA
Doug

Sorry, I mistyped that. Though can anyone help identify for sure which one this is? Since at the absolute most (measuring the exterior of the tb opening) it's 65.9mm, so this is a GSR throttle body?
Looks like a '98+ GS-R throttle body to me.
The bracket for the throttle cable places it feeding in from teh passenger-side, not from the driver-side (like the B18B's and B18C5's do).

that's mos def a GSR TB, no other b-series TB has that throttle bracket.
Minus the throttle bracket (it supposedly came off a GSR since he had it installed on his) is there any other way to tell? Since he supposedly he uninstalled it from his car just before sending it to me which is why the bracket might be on there.

Another way possibly to tell, is on a type r TB, the sensor on the top of the TB (forgot what its called
) is facing the opposite way than how it is in the picture. I'll try to get a pic of my TB so you can compare.

The GSR and Type R have different pulleys for the throttle cables too. The GSR pulley routes the cable to the bracket in your picture, and the Type R one routes it along the manifold like all other Hondas.
Thanks everyone, looking at that picture the ITR throttle body can not work with the GSR bracket.
Beonest can you possibly measure the intake side opening? I'd just like to see what the outer diameter is of the opening just to make everything final.
Seems like I did get sent the wrong throttle body. Hopefully he'll refund it or send the correct one...

Stock GSR throttle bodies are 60mm and the Type R is 62mm. Measuring at the exit is a little misleading, as it opens up a little from the bored section at the butterfly.
"Caveaut emptor" or buyer beware applies in this case since you are buying from one of the most notorious sites for rip -offs (thepartstrader.com). Be extremely cautious from whom and what you buy on that site. I recommend using services such as escrow in future. Hope all works out for you and you do receive the ITR TB you paid for.
