I want to know if I get a 6 point roll cage installed how strong is the "frame" of the car.

Could you cut off the roof? I think it would be cool to do a rag top CRX if it was done right.



I don't want a full cage because I don't like the idea of smacking my head on it every time i take a corner

 

Putting in a 6 point roll bar won't stiffen up the car enough to hack the roof off-unless this is just a crap car/beater. Maybe if you weld the B pillar/door jamb to the main hoop and do double diagonals in the hoop but I would expect you to have quite a bit of cowl shake though as your A pillars and door hinges will now be unsupported.

 

^^^ true that, double that if its just a bolt in cage your looking into

 

unless youre installing racing seatbelts roll bars wont do ish but kill you in an accident. The roll bar is not designed for you to be able to move in seat like you would with a standard seat belt. You will hit your head in the event of an accident.
