Default how to install oxygen sensor on new header?

i need to install a bung hole for the oxygen sensor on my header. i was wonderin what tool would i need to install this(the one that drills thread). or do i just drill a hole big enough and stick the o2 in and weld it on? im a newb so all the info is needed.

Unless you know how to weld I would probably just take it to a muffler shop... Be sure the location you choose will allow the oxygen sensor to fit correctly... You neither tap the header directly nor weld the O2 straight in... Your header is drilled or cutting torched and then a bung is welded in place, this allows you to thread in the oxygen sensor just as you normally would... Hope this helps...

You get an oxygen sensor bung (anywhere from $5 to $10 for a mild steel one).

You drill a hole for the bung and then weld the bung.

Thread the sensor into the bung and that's it.
