woke up with a flat tire earlier this week, i've yet to get it fixed (i'm ordering a new set of tires, and my pirellis are on the way). there's a snow expo in sacramento this weekend i really wanted to hit up, which is about 2 hrs away.

would it be safe to just put the spare on for the 4-5 hrs it'll be on the road? would it mess anything up?

no it won't mess anything up. It's a regular tire only smaller and less expensive to produce.

what're the dangers associated with driving on a spare?

the cruising speed on 99 down to sacramento is about 70 mph

 

I think it's like 50 or 55 max, mostly watch out on turns. Luckily that 99 is pretty straight, not very windy till you get downtown.

 

those little spares are ****, drive slow on them. i woundt go more than 55 and only for a few hours max

that wont last.
my idiot friend tried to race with his on (he is a little slow ) and tore the tire off the rim. so its NOT like a normal tire.
i would say no more than 30 miles and not over 55mph.
