how do you guys keep your engine bay clean?
Engine degreaser and foaming tire shine worked good for me.
1. Let the engine cool completely.
2. Grab some plastic bags (Walmart bags worked good for me) and tie them around your air filter, distributer, and alternator. Also if you have a b-series be sure to use your sparkplug wire cover b/c it helps keep the water out of there.
3. Spray down the whole engine bay with engine degreaser. Yep, thats right everything. Don't worry the degreaser wont hurt any of your wiring. Let it sit for about 5 minutes.
4. It is best to do all of this at a car wash so that you can use a pressure washer. Now spray down the engine bay and knock all of that gunk off. I would only concentrate the pressurized water in the areas that really need it. Everything else should just fall off.
5. If there is still some dirt left then repeat the steps. You may need to scrub in the really stubborn areas.
6. Let the whole engine bay dry completely.
7. Spray down everthing with CD2 engine detailer or foaming tire shine. I used the foaming tire shine and it seems to attract a good bit of dirt but I like to wash my engine bay alot so it really doesn't bother me.
I hope this helps. Also if you search then I am sure that you could find a how-to thread with pictures.

every time i wash the car, I spray down the engine bay, every couple times I wash it just like the rest of the car, with soap and an old wash pad. As long as you don't have a leaker, it's not a big deal to keep it clean. maybe if I get a bug up my *** I might use those armor-all wipes on the hoses and wires, but I usually don't
u can go to your local advance auto parts or dealer in your area and pick up about four cans of brake parts cleaner. spray everything down within reason but make sure to cover filter dist. ect. after you drench the motor then use a pressure washer like the other guy said at the car wash and she should come pretty clean . good luck!
